Character's Background:  Very, very complicated.  I'll post the Gen-X stuff if need be, but only if need be.

After leaving Snow Valley Monet headed back to Algeria with her sisters, Penance, Artie, and Leech.  However, that didn't last long and she quickly joined up with Banshee's slovenly lead X-Corps with former teammates Chamber, Husk, and Jubilee.  After this fell through (i.e. the mind controlled baddies on the team stopped being so mind controlled) she joined up with the international conglomeration X-Corporation where she met Jamie Madrox, among others.  After the events of M-day she has taken up residence in Mutant Town with X-Factor Investigations.
Character's Personality:  Bitch.  Oh, I'm sorry, did you want more?  Well, basically she's a quipy little European (actually African, but her personality's more French inspired) thing.  You could come to the conclusion that she uses her sarcasm and wit as a shield to prevent people from getting close to her.  Or, you could also say that she simply feels superior to everyone else.  Personally, I think it's a little bit of both, but mostly the latter.
Affiliation:  I s'pose X-men since they have a chokehold on everything "X."

The early morning sun crept through the cracks in the blinds forming slits of yellow-orange railings across the floor and bed. Monet blinked her eyelids open, shielding the sensitive pupils with her outstretched hand. Sighing she rolled over, flinging off the covers as she did so, and walked over to her dresser, opening the top drawer. Situated inside, on top of the folded underwear and socks there was a hand written note.

She smiled to herself for a moment before tucking the letter away in a filing folder and heading off to the shower.  It wouldn't show, but she'd be carrying that warm fuzzy feeling with her all day.

Upon seeing that their brother had returned the twins used their powers to banish Emplate to another dimension. As Marius was being transported away, he told Penance to come with him, as he is the only one capable of reverting her back to her original body. Penance agreed, and came with Marius to the other dimension. However, Emplate did not hold up his end of the bargain and instead used "Penance" as a long term source of food. She did not return to her true form until the twins freed her and took her place as "Penance." After the collapse of the Xavier Institute, due to extenuating circumstances *cough*Adrienne Frost*cough*, Monet joined the alcoholic Sean Cassidy's X-Corps. Inevitably this team fell through, however. So Monet was forced to join the European branch of X-Corporation in Paris, France. Following the events of House of M, M has opted to join the motley crew of X-Factor Investigations, a private detective agency run by Jamie Madrox. It remains to be seen what she will bring to the new cast, but with her characteristic snideness and bad attitude, she will certainly round out the team.
